SJ Hamill working in partnership with the City of Savannah, is completing construction of the Bilbo Canal Widening to increase stormwater capacity and reduce flooding during extreme weather events. Construction for the canal widening consisted of east and west bulkheads; 819 WF steel combination wall h-pile and sheet pile with a CIP concrete cap; CIP box culvert; upgrade of stormwater piping, site clearing & grubbing; construction of access roads and 8,000 CY of canal excavation. SJ Hamill worked with the City of Savannah to improve the facilities access roads and handle contaminated soils found within the projects limits. The project is schedule to be completed and handed over to the owner in October of 2024.
